CAREER
Most of my career has been involved in the Health Industry. I originally trained as a Nurse / Midwife, before embarking in to the field of Addictions where I was the Assistant Manager of a residential Drug Project for 5 years.
I was employed by the Priory Hospital Glasgow for 12 years as senior Counsellor providing an integrative style of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Person-Centred Therapy to individuals experiencing anxiety, stress, depression and emotional and psychological difficulties.
I undertook a Post- Graduate Diploma in Person- Centred Therapy at Strathclyde University in 2001, and returned to the Priory Hospital to initiate an Out- Patient Counselling service which continued for the following 7 years prior to my departure in December 2008. Im also trained in EMDR – an effective therapy in the treatment of Post- traumatic stress disorder - and have treated personnel following the Lockerbie disaster, MOD recruits returning from wars, survivors of the Stockline disaster and childhood abuse cases.
ÂIn addition to seeing private clients and GP referrals, I provide the Therapy services to Central Police, Central and Fife Fire services.

VALUES
I am keen to offer my wide range of experiences and skill to individuals who are experiencing problems - personal or professional. My overall view is that people are worth investing in – no matter what the problem or how long the duration - and that counselling can stem the flow of a situation spiralling out of control. It can improve quality of life and mind in a pro-active and productive manner. It can also minimise the potential of accessing mal-adaptive coping strategies which are likely to maintain but not successfully manage the problem. My aim is to continue to provide a high quality effective service that is of benefit to its users, and an overall worthwhile experience.
When I'm not counselling, I'll be out in the wilds, travelling or hanging out with friends!
